Ownership is the Magic Word

I didn’t have to read, “Own your destiny or someone else will” by Noel Tichy to get the point.
The moment I saw the book’s title, I knew it was meant for me.
Truth be told that I’ve always been chasing someone else’s ideology of what true success is. One because I didn’t know any better, and two because I thought everyone else knew more than me. After all, I come from a place where the best advice came from those who followed the idea of chasing the ideology of what others were doing.
But thankfully I’ve gotten the opportunity to look within myself and be able to access what is it that I want for myself. What is it that will bring me joy, laughter, courage, authenticity, discipline, consistency, dedication, fierceness, and mastery.
And in order to do it not only did I have to look into inside but also ask really tough questions about what was it that I wanted. And boy was that question hard…. I never knew the answer and still at times struggle with it. But the best thing is that as I keep reminding myself of Noel Tichy’s title, it gets a bit better.
